Engineering major Larsen & Toubro announced a net profit of Rs 1,686 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. This suggests a 20.6% rise from Rs 1,337.4 crore posted in the year ago period. Net sales rose 11% to Rs 15,078 crore from Rs 13, 585 crore for the corresponding period a year ago. Exceptional gain of Rs 226 crore.
Order inflow at Rs 28,526 crore in the engineering and construction segment.
