The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished up 8.10 points, or 0.1%, to close at 12,402.76. The Nasdaq Composite Index led the rise in equity markets, boosted by shares of Microsoft, which make up about 5% of the index’s weighting. The Nasdaq Composite rose 21.54 points, or 0.8%, to close at 2,782.92.
