Greece’s Prime Minister George Papandreou won a key confidence vote late Tuesday, paving the way for the introduction of more austerity measures in order to stave off default.
The Greek parliament will now vote on additional austerity measures aimed at gaining approval from euro-zone finance ministers for the release the next tranche of aid to Greece of the 110 billion euro ($158.6 billion) aid package approved last year.
