Both sides deny U.S. debt deal reached

The White House and House Speaker John Boehner on Thursday both denied that there has been a deal struck about raising the debt ceiling and cutting spending.

A report in the New York Times said that the Obama administration has told Democratic congressional leaders that President Barack Obama and Boehner were starting to close in on a major budget deal.
