2 G Licences cancellations

Implications:

1. Huge embarrassment for the government.
2. A reduction in the number of players in each telecom circle, since the less serious players may now opt out.
   
3. With number portability - Airtel, Vodafone, Idea to get customers of affected firms.
4. Expect a hike in mobile bills in short term.
5. In next financial year, Govt. may get extra funds from fresh 2 G bidding which will help to reduce fiscal deficit.
6. Banks that have lent could come under pressure.
